Gear Guide
What to pack for your Arunachal adventure — we handle the rest.
Introduction
Every expedition into the outdoor whether trekking remote locations, camping under untouched night skies or angling in wild waters of Arunachal Pradesh demands more than just enthusiasm. It demands the right equipment, thoughtfully chosen and purpose built for the activity of your choosing. This guide brings together field tested recommendations from real expeditions across rivers, forests and highland trails.
Angling
There are rivers you visit and then there are rivers that test you. The current is heavier and the terrain is unforgiving in the rivers of Arunachal Pradesh. Angling for Mahseer and goonch in our rivers is a test of strength, preparation, precision and patience. Together, they are rare angling experience and represents extreme freshwater angling. A spinning/baitcasting rod MH or H power measuring 8 to 9ft in length is a must. A 5000 or 6000 size spinning or 300 size spinning/ baitcasting reel with smooth drag is recommended. Lures required are Spoons (20-30g), inline spinners (long cast #4 & #5), Rapalas (Jointed 13, Deep divers) and vibration lures.

The right trekking gear isn't about carrying more. It's about carrying smarter, lighter and more reliable equipment that performs when conditions turn unpredictable.
